NCL Youth Staff / Teen Coordinator- Seasonal and Full time


Under the direction of the Lead Youth Coordinator, the Permanent Youth Counselor is responsible for the supervision of all youth and teen programs as it relates to the Passenger Programs and Entertainment Department.

As a member of the Cruise Staff, the Youth / Teen Coordinator is responsible to assist in leading any of the scheduled social, entertainment or recreational activities, ensuring that each event takes place safely and promptly
as scheduled

Knowledge and Experience:

A minimum of one to two years previous experience in the recreation industry working with children and / or teens. Must have specific expertise in the field of recreational administration.


It is the responsibility of the Youth/Teen coordinator to ensure the accuracy of all printed material which is submitted to all youth/teen passengers.

All Youth/Teen Coordinators are responsible for the storage, maintenance inventory and ordering of all equipment, supplies, gifts, and prizes which are specifically utilized in the youth/teen programs

Each Youth/Teen Coordinator must have the ability to serve as an effective Master of Ceremonies.

Each Youth/Teen Coordinator must have the ability to work as a team member on cooperation with other Cruise Staff members, as well as other shipside departments.It is the responsibility of the Youth/Teen Coordinator to be accessible to and approachable with the passengers. She/he must be capable of being a patient listener while making the passengers feels at home.

As a member of the cruise staff team, you are highly visible and in the public eye. You will interact with guests every day. Your words, actions and appearance represent the company, its image and its product.

Employment is conditional upon passing the pre-employment physical, reference verification and results of a criminal record search.

Permanent and seasonal Youth Staff must proceed for fingerprinting at their own expense and copy of results must be issued to Just Cruis’n upon receipt.

Permanent and seasonal Youth Staff must obtain CPR / FIRST AID certification or equivalent and photocopy of certification must be issued to Just Cruis’n upon receipt.

Job Description &Requirements

  • Seasonal Contract Length:
  • Varies with the holiday & season but may lead to a regular contract on a permanent rotation.

  • Contract Length:
  • Approximately four months, followed by a one-month vacation.

  • Evaluations:
  • Received end of each work period or at the conclusion of each calendar year. Evaluations are reviewed and salary increases are determined bases on the context of evaluations.

  • Transportation:
  • Provided by the cruise line from your home to join the ship. Upon completion of contract, round trip airfare to your home and back to the ship is provided. Cost of deviations will be the responsibility of the staff member. Expenses incurred in transfers between airports and the ship are paid by the company.

  • Medical Coverage:
  • During the time you are onboard as a crew member, you will receive complete medical benefits. No coverage when off the ship on leave/vacation.

  • Uniforms:
  • The cost of laundering company issued uniforms, formal wear, and theme night attire will be covered by the company. All crew members are to be well groomed and uniforms are to be kept neat, clean and not in need of repair.

  • Room and Board:
  • Provided by the company at no charge to the employee. Since space is limited, you may share your cabin with one to three other employees.

    Meals are provided at no charge in assigned mess halls. Meal hours are posted in the dining room areas.

  • Probation Period:
  • There is a 90 day probation period.

  • Banking:
  • Crew members can purchase money orders onboard to send home.
    There are safety deposit boxes available to keep your valuables in.

  • Physical Exam:
  • You must successfully complete a physical exam before signing on. (Inclusive of a drug test) You may be this exam completed by your physician at home and the company will reimburse you when you arrive at the ship. The max. amount of reimbursement is $150.00 US. Once the exam has been completed, please ensure you mail/fax a copy to Just Cruis’n and the company and bring the original completed form to the Personnel Manager onboard the vessel.

  • Signing on the vessel:
  • You are required to be in possession of a passport, valid for a minimum of one year.


Babysitting is only done in the youth center in a group and is pooled between all the Youth Staff.
